Moving on

How bizar that in the past 10 days, life turned around 180°. I moved to a new studio in central Brussels, started a new job, said goodbye to the people that I spent nearly every single minute with in the last 13 months, and suddenly have time again to watch a movie, meet up with people, or walk around undiscovered neighbourhoods in Brussels. And strangest of all, slowly but steadily, all the stress flew out of my body. When I leave work at 6PM, I stop thinking about it. Fantastic.

It didn't all start smoothly. The first few days were genuinely bizarre. On the 1st of September we decided all to go for dinner at the Thai underneath my flat. And afterwards for coffee. Percin had to go to catch his flight. The rest still didn't want to say goodbye, and after a few more hours of dancing and cocktails in empty O'Reilleys we all sqeezed into my mini appartment. It felt strange that it was over, that we had to say goodbye, we were happy, sad, melancholic, proud, victorious, excited and also a bit scared to start new lives on our own.

Next day went to Rotterdam with Ivonne. Nice day, but again a bit weird. That night I got acquaintanced with my new neighbours. A woman screamed and cried like she was being murdered, and I could hear the beating and sounds of furniture flying around. After 30 minutes, at 1.30 am, I decided to call the police. Didn't have a phone so went to the nightshop. With a knife, in case I'd meet the murderer. Police came, stayed for 15 minutes, and left with the message: "We think there's no serious danger but if it keeps going please call again". Great.

Then the toilet broke down and miraculously started working again after 2 days. Crashed the Youth Forum reception with Ana, where we met the hots and not so hots of Brussels youth work. Wrote my activity report. And spent way too much time online talking to my beautiful ex-colleagues.

Bisou from Brussels :-)
